Spring Term 2009 - I carried out the Telling Stories with Textiles workshop. Below is what the Children said and what the Teacher said along with some images of the workshop.

What the children said:

“I thought Mrs Harwoods teaching was very good because she was very kind and explained everything really well”

“Making art with textiles was brilliant and we enjoyed all of it”

“Everyone did really well because they concentrated and Mrs Harwood made it fun”

“It was wonderful I learnt loads”

What the teacher said:

Deborah Harwood worked with all our years 5 and 6 children to create a really wonderful textile frieze. She took the project from start to finish: from their initial planning through to display.
Her preparation and organisation was excellent and I felt totally stress-free before and during the sessions.
Both myself and the children learned many valuable and varied new skills, which were incorporated into the work.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their lessons. Learning was fun! Every child knew their achievements were valued: she was always positive, calm and explained everything in a way they could understand. Her ability to build a relationship with each child was reflected in their eager anticipation of every lesson.
I would most unreservedly recommend Deborah to any school or organisation wishing to employ a specialist artist.
